PMXA-67RUL - P'Mauriat Alto Sax- Limited Edition

Mauriat PMXA-67RUL Alto Saxophone - Unlacquered

As with all of P. Mauriat's Rolled Tone Hole models, their truly unique rolling process uses the saxophones existing material; unlike rolled tone hole models of the past, there is no soldering here, the tone holes are drawn from the body and then rolled over allowing superior resonance throughout the entire saxophone and increased response in all ranges.

P. Mauriat have also enlarged the bell to compliment and already warm, fat sound. The PMXA-RUL's raw brass finish allows the saxophone, uninhibited by layers of lacquer, to resonate freely. In addition, the absence of lacquer allows the brass to age over time, creating a unique vintage look and feel, while allowing players to forge a mature sound tha tis uniquely their own.

P. Mauriat PMXA-67RUL Alto Saxophone

There are many excellent horns available on the market today, but P. Mauriat's 66R/67R Series with genuine rolled tone holes are still regarded as unique instruments by many horn enthusiasts over 10 years after their first release. The special feature of these horns is their structurally integrated, unitary rolled tone holes, which means they are not created by soft soldering a separate metal ring onto the body. P. Mauriate's proprietary manufacturing method allows them to use the material from the body itself to roll the tone hole edges out, creating a one-piece unitary body that has not received unnecessary heat treatment, and therefore no potential drawbacks associated with solder-joined components. The resulting tone is one that is free and resonant, uninterrupted by extra work done on other so-called rolled tone hole saxophones.

Unitary Rolled Tone Holes

The unitary rolled tone hole is a patented design that uses a method that draws and rolls the tone hole from the body of the saxophone. This creates a warm and centered tone quality that is different from a straight or soldered tone hole.

Super VI Neck

The Super VI Neck is the result of years of research and design. The Super VI offers great response, clean articulation, and excellent intonation. It is also free blowing and flexible, providing the player access to a more extreme dynamic range and a wider palette of tonal expression.

Metal Resonator Pads

The metal resonators offer an outstanding response and deliver a wider dynamic range. The entire range of the instrument has a clearer pronunciation, providing effortless playability all around.
